Job Summary

The Day Camp and Climbing Supervisor will lead a team of staff and volunteers in delivering high-quality day camps and climbing programs to children and youth. The successful candidate will have a strong background in education, physical education, or a related field, and experience in program development, staff supervision, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of staff and volunteers in delivering day camps and climbing programs
  • Develop and implement program plans and schedules
  • Supervise and train staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality program delivery
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA Calgary's policies and procedures, including health and safety and child safety and protection
  • Provide regional leadership for summer and seasonal day camps
  • Oversee the budget for day camps and climbing programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with program participants and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Education, Physical Education, or a related degree or diploma
  • Climbing Wall Instructor ACMG or CUI Level 1 or higher (an asset)
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with youth
  • Experience in program development, staff supervision, and customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certifications
  • Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
