About the Role:

This Rehabilitation Therapist Assistant position reports to a Unit Manager within the Adult Inpatient Program at Alberta Health Services. The program offers specialized inpatient assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and support to those within the facility. As part of the Adult Inpatient Program, the Rehabilitation Therapist Assistant will work closely and collaboratively with the Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to provide functional services and educate patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client-centered care and participation in care teams.
  • Demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency.
  • Participate in quality improvement, program planning, and student supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation therapy assistant program or equivalent training.
  • Experience in therapeutic work in a clinical or residential setting.
  • A valid Heart & Stroke Health Care Providers Level C certification.
  • Excellent communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in working with individuals with mental illness and/or an addiction.
