Position Overview
As a Lead Associate in Pension Outsourcing, you will engage in a broad range of ongoing defined benefit plan administration tasks for clients, participate in special initiatives, and deliver tailored client support services. You will act as the primary project manager, enhancing client relationships and overseeing special projects while mentoring junior associates.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Being the main daily liaison for clients regarding service delivery
- Reviewing the work and outputs of Analysts
- Identifying and escalating issues to Consultants/Senior Consultants as necessary
- Deepening your knowledge in retirement plan design and administration
- Following a career trajectory with opportunities for growth and advancement
- Utilizing state-of-the-art tools and resources while collaborating with top industry talent
- Assessing moderately complex benefits calculations and trust instructions
- Gathering, manipulating, reconciling, and reviewing participant data, addressing issues as they arise
- Resolving intricate plan provision inquiries and challenges raised by clients and colleagues
- Creating internal administration manuals for clients when needed
- Updating documentation materials as instructed
- Applying Towers Watson's Professional Excellence tools and methodologies to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery
- Complying with plan documents and regulatory requirements in plan administration
- Leading and mentoring the team to ensure adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards
- Delivering projects that meet or surpass client expectations
- Enhancing efficiency within client teams by identifying process improvement opportunities
- Developing and training junior Analysts
Qualifications:
- 6 to 9 years of experience in defined benefits plan administration and manual calculations
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field with substantial quantitative coursework and a strong academic record
- In-depth understanding of defined benefit plan design fundamentals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Professional and client-oriented approach to colleagues and tasks
- A willingness to seek experiences that broaden perspectives and facilitate learning
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage multiple projects within set deadlines
