Job Summary:The TorontoJobs Recruitment Division is seeking a highly skilled Division Accounting Manager to join their team. As a key member of the accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions and activities assigned to the division. This includes managing accounts payable, cost, and divisional accounting activities, as well as supervising divisional accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage accounts payable, cost, and divisional accounting activities
- Supervise divisional accounting staff, including performance appraisals and training
- Maintain standard costs for manufactured product
- Develop manufacturing overhead budgets
- Prepare and reconcile annual standard revaluation and physical inventory
- Review existing accounting methods and systems, and design or request program changes to increase efficiency
- Ensure proper procedures are followed relating to fixed asset additions and disposals
- Coordinate all internal audits
- Develop and maintain internal controls
- Monitor Division's Sales and Use taxes and property taxes
- University Degree in Business and CPA designation
- 6 - 8 years of accounting experience
- 2 years experience leading a team
- Experience with cost accounting
- Good moral character and integrity
- Good written and verbal skills
- Ability to cope with heavy workload and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and high degree of accuracy
- Excellent knowledge of finance
