Job Summary

The Account Manager is a key role within the DSV Road team, responsible for managing and developing assigned accounts to drive growth and profitability. This position requires a strong understanding of transportation logistics and a customer-centric approach to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer booking information to determine service requirements and verify details.
  • Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound freight, prioritizing daily and weekly transportation targets.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations at every stage of the order fulfillment process, ensuring timely resolution of inquiries and concerns.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned accounts and ensure cross-training of colleagues.
  • Negotiate rates and terms with carriers and customers, effectively managing relationships.
  • Respond to internal and external client inquiries, resolving conflicts and problems efficiently.
  • Focus on servicing and building book business with DSV Air & Sea, establishing a one-stop-shop for transportation needs.
  • Work closely with colleagues to plan and execute customer requirements, including training and outsourcing functions.
  • Assist with pricing internal and external business, communicating with carriers to monitor freight movement.
  • Maintain accurate records and update milestones in real-time using transportation management software.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in transportation logistics or a related field.
  • College diploma or university degree in Business, Logistics, or International Trade.
  • 2 years of experience in Account Management, with a strong understanding of customer service principles.
  • CIFFA certificate and Dangerous Goods Certification are assets.
