Position Overview

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) at St.Amant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals we support. You will provide compassionate and personalized care, assisting with daily living activities, promoting well-being, and fostering meaningful connections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Support: Provide individualized assistance with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist individuals with meal preparation and consumption, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Health & Safety: Monitor individuals' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate staff. Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to infection control protocols and promoting cleanliness.
  • Social Engagement: Facilitate social interaction and recreational activities, encouraging participation in community events and fostering meaningful relationships.
  • Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate and detailed records of individuals' care, progress, and any incidents or occurrences. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support.

Skills & Qualifications

  • A genuine passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to providing person-centered care that respects individual dignity and autonomy.
