Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Claims Professional, Insurance Examiner to join our team. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for settling claims for various types of insurance, including habitation, automobile, motorcycle, long haul trucking, commercial, and warranty programs.
Key Responsibilities- Claims Investigation and Settlement: Conduct thorough investigations to determine coverage and settle claims in a fair and timely manner.
- Coverage Assessment: Determine the extent of coverage for each claim and ensure that all relevant information is gathered.
- Communication and Negotiation: Communicate with policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders to negotiate settlements and resolve claims.
- Subrogation and Recovery: Identify opportunities for subrogation and recover losses on behalf of the company.
- Vendor Management: Manage external vendors to ensure effective investigation, control, and facilitation of claims.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare accurate and detailed reports and correspondence related to claims.
- Payment Processing: Process payments or denials in accordance with established authority.
- Claim Reserves and Audit: Maintain timely and accurate claim reserves and actively manage the claims audit program.
- Travel: Some travel may be required for this role.
- Education: College certificate.
- Insurance Permits: Personal-lines Damage Insurance and Commercial-line Damage Insurance Claims Adjuster AMF permit.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in claims adjusting or a related field.
- Certifications: CIP or FCIP designation or working towards is an asset.
- Language: Bilingual (French and English) is required, as you will be communicating with colleagues and customers in other provinces.
- Skills: Strong business writing skills, excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Word and Excel.
