About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Engineering Operations to lead our Thunder Bay office. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan to drive business growth and success in the Power, mining, and metals sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a business plan to drive growth and success in the Thunder Bay office.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver high-quality services to clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Manage the financial and human resources of the Thunder Bay office.
  • Ensure the highest standards of occupational health and safety are implemented and met.
  • Develop and implement policies, operational processes, and engineering practices in accordance with BBA's quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to discipline leads and department managers.
  • Oversee procurement of goods and services and office space leases.
  • Be an ambassador of the firm's values and promote them through leadership by example.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering or diploma in a relevant program of study.
  • 15 years of relevant experience, minimum 5 within a consulting engineering firm.
  • Experience with P&L responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of the mining and metals sector or of the power sector.
  • Significant network of contacts in the power and/or mining and metals sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of multidisciplinary engineering.
  • Experience in engaging and managing teams.
  • Excellent soft skills and collaborative management skills.
  • Experience and interest in business development.
  • Experience in organizational development and in managing multidisciplinary work teams.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Asset: Knowledge of French.
  • Asset: Knowledge of Spanish.
