We are seeking a qualified property accountant to become a vital part of our team. The ideal candidate will manage full-cycle accounting for a diverse portfolio of properties and may collaborate with fellow Property Accountants on specific assignments.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain and update lease administration records for accurate monthly rent billing and establish new property and lease records as necessary.
- Oversee monthly rent invoicing, cash receipts, PAD processing, tenant chargebacks, and accounts receivable monitoring.
- Input recurring accounts payable and process invoices as required.
- Manage cash flow through bank reconciliations, monitoring, and projections.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, accounts receivable reports, and variance analyses.
- Handle adjusting journal entries and accruals.
- Collaborate closely with property managers to prepare client reports and assist in annual property budgeting.
- File HST for each client within your portfolio.
- Conduct year-end reporting, including developing working papers and coordinating with property managers and auditors.
- Create and maintain various custom reports and spreadsheets as requested by clients, including amortization and straight-line rent schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation and backup for all entries and filings.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in YARDI Voyager property management/accounting software.
- Able to work independently while being a supportive team player with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A stable work environment with a strong sense of community and minimal turnover.
- A dynamic and engaging office atmosphere.
- A focus on work-life balance.
Starting salary at $60,000, commensurate with experience.
