**About the role**

We’re looking for a Accounting Specialist to join our passionate team of finance professionals

As a Financial Specialist, you will support activities related to the Claims Finance function. You’ll be working alongside an inspiring and knowledgeable team of experts - the best industry has to offer - and together, you’ll be instrumental in supporting Intact’s growth objectives.

**Workplace**: Montreal (2020 Robert-Bourassa), St-Hyacinthe (2450 Girouard O), Toronto (700 University Avenue) or Calgary (321 6 Avenue).

**What you’ll do here**:

- Act as a finance business partner for your assigned Claims business units with interaction with claims regional leadership (Directors & VPs).
- Prepare accounting entries, monthly reconciliations and reporting.
- Prepare the monthly reporting package and variance analysis, develop and improve forecasting models.
- Provide insights to the business unit leaders on their financial performance.
- Participate in the annual budgeting, which includes financial analysis and presentations to senior management.
- Coordinate financial activities and processes with the management of our claims department.

**What you bring to the table**:

- CPA designation or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- More than 5 years relevant work experience
- You are an ace of teamwork, interpersonal skills, and tact
- Good communications skills - you are proactive, you can build and maintain business partnerships
- You show curiosity, initiative, interest to learn and to understand processes
- You take ownership and you are accountable
- Quick learner, agile and adaptable to change
- Detail oriented
- Excellent knowledge of Excel. Power BI reporting an asset. Knowledge of Oracle/SmartView (preferred)
