MedIT, the information technology department for the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, partners with clients, the University, and third parties to deliver value-based, sustainable technology solutions. Our mission is to empower the Faculty to achieve its academic goals through enterprise IT services, a strong focus on Microsoft 365 Platform utilization, robust network infrastructure, and secure systems.
Your Opportunity
As Associate Director, Technical Operations & Infrastructure, you will lead and mentor teams responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex technical systems and services across the Faculty. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the development and maintenance of a reliable, modern, and enterprise-grade IT infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Managing Technical Support and AV operations to support learners, faculty, and staff across multi-site medical education initiatives.
- Optimizing the activities of Application and Data Architecture teams and departmental IT units within the Faculty.
- Assuming full responsibility for hosting and operating critical business systems, the Faculty's 10-building physical network infrastructure, firewalls, and other security services and systems.
- Championing a culture of exceptional client service and IT Service Management best practices to ensure best-in-class performance and leverage emerging technologies to enhance IT operations and services.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will possess:
- A university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field; certifications such as PMP/PMI, ITIL, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Expert, or Azure DevOps Expert are highly valued.
- Eight years of experience leading teams in enterprise information technology operations within a university, government, healthcare, or similar organization.
- A proven track record of success in managing complex technical projects and implementing innovative solutions.
