About the Role

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will take charge of analyzing, designing, configuring, and supporting Aecon's system solutions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and productivity, aligning with business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Assess, recommend, and implement capacity, growth, and architectural modifications for Aecon's software, network, database, and application ecosystem.
  • Engage in various phases of the software development lifecycle for AWS solutions.

System Enhancements

  • Lead technical initiatives to enhance, design, build, and deploy AWS applications.

Quality Assurance

  • Review testing plans and oversee the testing process to ensure comprehensive testing with minimal risk.
  • Evaluate testing outcomes to confirm that the solution meets business requirements and facilitate issue resolution.

Documentation

  • Record system modifications and create system manuals.

Problem Resolution

  • Exhibit outstanding problem-solving abilities to identify and address issues before they impact productivity.
  • Provide insights into expenditures related to hardware components.

Research and Evaluation

  • Participate in the assessment and selection of new cloud tools and methodologies.
  • Analyze technological trends to evaluate their impact on business objectives and provide recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5-7 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with business operations, systems requirements, configuration, and IT processes and technologies.
  • AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or higher.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in cloud computing platforms and services.
  • Experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, programming languages, scripting tools, Windows Server/Linux, data storage, database technologies, and cloud engineering certifications.
  • Understanding of the ITIL framework and best practices.
