Position Overview
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will take charge of analyzing, designing, configuring, and supporting Aecon's system solutions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and productivity, aligning with business strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Assess, recommend, and implement capacity, growth, and architectural modifications for Aecon's software, network, database, and application framework.
- Engage in various phases of the software development lifecycle for AWS solutions.
System Enhancements
- Lead technical initiatives to enhance, design, construct, and deploy AWS applications.
Quality Assurance
- Review testing strategies and oversee the testing process to ensure thorough evaluation with minimal risk.
- Analyze testing outcomes to confirm the solution meets business requirements and facilitate problem resolution.
Documentation
- Record system modifications and create comprehensive system manuals.
Analytical Problem Solving
- Exhibit exceptional analytical skills to identify and resolve issues proactively, preventing disruptions to business productivity.
- Provide insights into expenditures related to hardware components.
Research and Technical Assessment
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new cloud tools and methodologies.
- Analyze technological trends to assess their impact on business objectives and provide recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-7 years of relevant technical and professional experience.
- Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with business operations, system requirements, configurations, and IT processes and technologies.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or higher.
Technical Skills and Specifications
- Understanding of cloud computing platforms and services.
- Experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, programming languages, scripting tools, Windows Server/Linux, data storage, database technologies, and cloud engineering certifications.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework and best practices.
