Lead Policy Advisor for Infrastructure

Position Overview:

The Infrastructure Strategy, Policy and Research Division is seeking a highly qualified Senior Policy Analyst to contribute expert insights into infrastructure policy within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is essential for shaping strategic, evidence-based infrastructure investments across various government sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate projects aimed at conceptualizing and recommending effective strategies and policy alternatives.
  • Engage in strategic planning, analyze emerging issues, and provide well-informed policy recommendations.
  • Oversee comprehensive project planning and management, including setting timelines, deliverables, and managing consultant engagements.
  • Develop and manage stakeholder consultation processes to foster collaboration and gather valuable insights.

Qualifications:

Research, Analytical, and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in research methodologies, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate new or modified policies and assess their impact on infrastructure planning.
  • Skilled in analyzing stakeholder proposals and interests to formulate viable policy solutions.
Technical Expertise
  • Extensive knowledge of policy development processes and strategic directions within the ministry.
  • Familiarity with government capital planning, asset management, and economic theory relevant to public infrastructure projects.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Strong consultation skills to garner support for infrastructure policy initiatives.
  • Ability to build consensus and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills for communicating policy recommendations.
  • Proficient written communication skills for preparing comprehensive reports and documentation.
Project Management Skills
  • Proven project management capabilities to lead and participate in strategic policy initiatives.
