Project Overview:Optimization of Code Table Management Systems
- The Enterprise Generic Code Table Management system (EGCTM) is a Java EE application interfacing with a DB2 database, while the Oracle Code Table Management system (OCTM) operates as a Java EE application connected to an Oracle database.
- This initiative aims to merge the EGCTM and OCTM into a unified platform utilizing a microservices architecture tailored for cloud deployment.
- The Reciprocal Hospital Billing System (RHBS) facilitates payments to Ontario hospitals for services rendered to eligible out-of-province residents, subsequently invoicing those claims to the respective home province or territory.
- The objective is to modernize the application framework into a containerized microservices architecture that improves scalability and portability.
- The Payment Summary Control System (PSCS) generates detailed payment summaries reflecting the ministry's subrogated claims.
- This project seeks to transition PSCS to contemporary technology while capturing current client business requirements.
- The selected candidate will support the completion of these three key projects.
- Streamline and automate the software development lifecycle.
- Implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines.
- Automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance and availability.
- Collaborate effectively with development teams, QA teams, stakeholders, and infrastructure administrators.
- Possess a solid understanding of resource management in Kubernetes environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in deploying, scaling, and monitoring applications within a RedHat OpenShift environment.
- Proficient with tools such as Git, Tekton, ArgoCd, Maven, and YAML for CI/CD processes.
- Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring software systems hosted in Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud application frameworks, including Quarkus.
- Design and Implementation Skills/Experience - 50%
5 years of experience in deploying, scaling, and monitoring applications in a RedHat OpenShift environment, along with expertise in application code containerization and virtualization technologies like Docker, and Kubernetes for container management and orchestration. - Troubleshooting / Debugging - 15%
Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring software systems in Kubernetes, with strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. - Communication Skills - 15%
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with Agile teams on microservices architecture. - Tools Knowledge - 20%
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite, including Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Visio, and knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), or Google Cloud.
- This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence three days a week.
