Position Overview:

As a Senior Compliance Counsel, you will be instrumental in overseeing legal, regulatory, compliance, and reputational challenges for our insurance brokerage divisions. Your role will encompass delivering legal counsel, managing compliance training programs, and ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Associate Senior Counsel focusing on compliance and privacy within the insurance brokerage sector
  • Facilitate communication between the insurance brokerage and the Legal and Compliance departments
  • Offer legal insights on compliance and privacy issues
  • Lead initiatives for compliance training and awareness
  • Formulate policies and procedures to strengthen compliance efforts

Qualifications:

  • Licensed member of the Law Society of Ontario
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in the fields of compliance or privacy law
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
  • Skilled in evaluating legal risks and recommending solutions
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluency in French and familiarity with Quebec law is advantageous
