About the Role

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Purchasing Supervisor for Quebec, Maritime, and Northeast America and will be responsible for performing various tasks related to purchasing for the entire company.

  • Ensure that the purchasing procedure is followed and applied;
  • Conduct research to find new sources of supply to reduce costs;
  • Responsible for negotiating purchasing terms;
  • Develop cost analysis reports;
  • Monitor supplier evaluations;
  • Ensure good communication with other departments;
  • Issue and track purchase orders;
  • Manage and prioritize orders placed with suppliers;
  • Track open orders and follow up with suppliers;
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers;
  • Analyze and consolidate needs within the division;
  • Implement procedures and performance indicators.

Requirements

  • Hold a DEC;
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in a purchasing department within a manufacturing company;
  • Be fluent in French and English, spoken and written;
  • Be concerned with quality in all aspects;
  • Be able to work under pressure;
  • Be autonomous and resourceful;
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (an asset).
