Entry-Level Network Security Analyst

CB Canada is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Network Security Analyst to enhance our security posture in the financial sector.

Position Overview

  • Assess security vulnerabilities and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of data protection measures to safeguard the organization’s informational assets.
  • Conduct evaluations of security controls, identify deficiencies, and collaborate with teams to recommend actionable solutions.
  • Perform Data Loss Prevention assessments as part of Threat Risk Assessments on new projects, analyzing design documents to identify risks and develop action plans.
  • Advise on strategic security enhancements to improve the detection of data security incidents.
  • Manage projects effectively while coordinating with various business units.
  • Provide technical expertise to automate existing processes and explore new solutions.
  • Enhance threat monitoring capabilities to mitigate potential risks.
  • Work closely with application and business teams to implement protective measures, leveraging knowledge of network architecture and policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date support documentation and operational procedures.
  • Develop and oversee policies related to the organization’s Data Loss Prevention initiatives.
  • Continuously optimize policies to improve the detection of incidents involving the organization’s informational assets.
  • Offer advisory support in the development and enhancement of solutions aimed at protecting the organization’s data.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical background in Security Engineering, Network Security, Authentication Protocols, Cryptography, and Application Security.
  • Experience in Risk Management with a focus on Infrastructure Security best practices.
  • Familiarity with Data Loss Prevention tools and methodologies.
  • Proven track record of implementing security solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design and Java frameworks.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of secure development principles and infrastructure security.
  • Understanding of High Availability Design principles.
  • Familiarity with mainframe systems architecture.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to address complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to handle large-scale projects.
  • Post-secondary degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of major programming languages.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and various database technologies.
  • Experience with Source Code Management Systems like GIT.
  • Experience collaborating with management and internal audit teams.
  • Understanding of the organization’s security strategy and associated policies.
