Job Description

**Job Title:** Junior IT Security Analyst - Networks

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled Junior IT Security Analyst - Networks to join our team at CB Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying security issues and risks, and providing recommendations for mitigation plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Security Risk Management:** Identify security issues and risks, and provide recommendations for mitigation plans.
  • **Data Security Governance:** Govern the deployment of data security controls that mitigate and reduce the loss and exposure of banks' informational assets.
  • **Security Control Evaluation:** Conduct security control evaluation assessments, identify gaps, risks, and milestones, and work with various teams to recommend possible solutions and mitigation controls.
  • **Data Loss Protection:** Conduct Data Loss Protection Assessment as part of TRAs (Threat Risk Assessment) on various new initiatives/Projects, interpret architecture design documents, highlight risks, and work with respective business lines to develop mitigating action plans.
  • **Strategic Security Solutions:** Recommend strategic security solutions and security control improvements specific to the enhancing of the identification of data security events.
  • **Project Management:** Lead projects and meet tight timelines while dealing with multiple business lines.
  • **Technical Support:** Provide technical knowledge/support to automate processes within existing applications and/or other researched solutions.
  • **Threat Scenarios:** Expand on threat scenarios and enable added monitoring/blocking to mitigate potential threats.
  • **Coordination:** Coordinate with application and business teams to enable protection services and provide guidance through knowledge of network architecture, domains, policies, and processes.
  • **Documentation:** Ensure currency of support documentation, operational playbooks, and data catalogues.
  • **Policy Development:** Develop and manage policies and rules deployed as part of banks Data Loss Prevention program on various channels.
  • **Event Detection:** Enhance the detection of events involving the loss or exposure of banks informational assets by ongoing policy optimization and fine-tuning.
  • **Advisory Services:** Providing advisory and technical knowledge to the development, implementation, and improvement of solutions to protect banks informational assets from loss or exposure.

Requirements:

  • **Experience:** 2+ years related field experience required.
  • **Technical Knowledge:** Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in Security Engineering, System and Network Security, Authentication and Security Protocols, Cryptography, and Application Security.
  • **Risk Management:** Experience in Risk Management with technical knowledge for Infrastructure Security best practices and controls.
  • **Data Loss Prevention:** Experience with Data Loss Prevention/Data Discovery tools, techniques, and frameworks.
  • **Implementation:** Consistent implementation of security solutions.
  • **Domain Knowledge:** Good knowledge of Domain Driven Design and multiple Java frameworks.
  • **Build Tools:** Build, automated integration, and deployment tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
  • **Security Principles:** Security - secure development principles, oAuth, infrastructure security, etc.
  • **HA Design:** HA Design/Architecture principles.
  • **Mainframe Systems:** Mainframe systems architecture and design.
  • **Database Experience:** Experience with Database.
  • **Communication Skills:** Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills to be able to work well with technical peers and business stakeholders at different levels within the organization.
  • **Analytical Skills:** Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions.
  • **Teamwork:** Ability to work as part of a team, as well as work independently or with minimal direction.
  • **Time Management:** Good time management and organizational skills to effectively manage high-scale projects.
  • **Education:** Post-secondary degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • **Programming Languages:** Working knowledge of major programming languages.
  • **Enterprise Architecture:** Experience of working with TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and their application.
  • **Cloud Infrastructure:** Cloud infrastructure, Docker, Linux OS, distributed Relational/NoSQL/NewSQL datastores.
  • **Source Code Management:** Source Code Management Systems (GIT, Bit Bucket, SVN).
  • **Information Provision:** Experience providing information for or working with management and internal audit.
  • **Company Knowledge:** Knowledge of the company's security strategy, associated policies, platform-specific standards, and control objectives as they relate.
