We are seeking a Business Process Consultant to assist with a contract focused on enhancing security operations. Candidates must possess a Secret level of Security Clearance.
Our client, engaged in public sector security services, aims to refine its corporate security program administration.
The selected consultant will be tasked with documenting, evaluating, and proposing enhancements to current security processes associated with financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of various processes to:
- Establish a standard for process consistency
- Create a repository for process visibility
- Enhance integration among security functions (e.g., Security Services, Cyber Security, Procurement & Contracting) and clarify the interconnections among key stakeholders.
- Define and document roles and responsibilities within the security function groups.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and analyze existing security processes (both manual and automated) to identify areas for improvement.
This evaluation will also encompass the organization of the security function at our client’s facility, the nature of its work (including outputs and deliverables), and the interrelationships within the security function, focusing on clarifying responsibilities and identifying potential synergies and gaps.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current tools and data utilized in security processes to identify weaknesses and propose solutions.
- Benchmark existing business processes against similar organizations to guide the analysis and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Analyze functional business requirements to clarify information, procedures, and decision flows.
- Map current processes and develop new processes along with recommended changes, assessing their potential impact on the security function.
Deliverables for Each Process
- A clear specification of the purpose of each process
- Visio diagrams illustrating each step
- A comprehensive analysis of the business environment
- Recommendations for process improvements along with justifications
- A detailed description of the activities involved in the process
- A list of stakeholders affected by the process
- A specification of responsibilities for those involved in service delivery
- Identification of opportunities for efficiency gains and service enhancements where internal controls can be strengthened
- Development of communication materials for stakeholders regarding upcoming changes to the security function
- Provision of advice and assistance in implementing new processes as necessary
