Senior Cost Analysis Specialist

The Senior Analyst of Cost Analysis & Reporting plays a pivotal role in supporting the organization's operational strategy, ensuring alignment with financial goals and optimal resource allocation to meet business priorities. This position is integral to the team, focusing on the implementation of enterprise-wide key performance indicators for specific cost categories, executing departmental and project financial plans, and managing month-end financial closing activities independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reporting and analysis to support internal reporting for senior management and departments, as well as the Annual Report.
- Collaborate with Total Fund Management to refine cost models and analyses.
- Drive continuous improvements in processes and reporting, proactively identifying enhancement and automation opportunities.
- Address inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies thoroughly and determine appropriate actions in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with team members and departments to ensure alignment with organizational vision, goals, and values.
- Develop, update, and maintain cost trends analysis and dashboards utilizing various data sources and BI tools (e.g., Oracle Financials, SQL queries).
- Contribute to system changes and upgrades by providing input on requirements and coordinating user acceptance testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-4 years of demonstrated experience in budget preparation, forecasting, and analytics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in automation tools and data manipulation software (e.g., Power BI, Python, SQL, Think-cell, Oracle – Essbase & GL).
- Exemplify the guiding principles of integrity, partnership, and high performance.
- Show curiosity in understanding business processes and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Apply critical thinking to resolve operational issues and escalate emerging risks or issues to leadership in a timely manner.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with senior leadership and all levels of management.
