Job Summary

The Senior Cost Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's operational strategy to align with financial objectives. This position is responsible for ensuring that resources are optimally allocated to support business priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reporting and analysis for CPP Investments to support internal reporting to the Senior Management Team, Board of Directors, and Departments as well as the Annual Report.
  • Cost Modeling and Analysis: Partner with Total Fund Management to update cost models and analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Promote continuous improvements in processes and reporting, proactively identifying opportunities for enhancements and automation.
  • Communication: Respond to enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and thoroughly investigate reporting discrepancies and determine appropriate course of action in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other team members and departments to ensure alignment with our vision, goals, and values.
  • Cost Analysis and Dashboard Development: Develop, update, and maintain cost models, trends analysis, and dashboards using various data sources and BI tools (e.g., Oracle Financials, SQL queries to extract information from database).
  • System Changes and Upgrades: Contribute to system changes and upgrades by providing input into requirements and coordinating or executing user acceptance testing.
Qualifications
  • Education: Business degree (bachelor or graduate) with concentration in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience (3-4 years) in preparing budget, forecasts, and analytics.
  • Skills: Solid problem-solving skills with experience in automation tools, data manipulation software, or planning software (e.g., Power BI, Python, SQL, Think-cell, Oracle – Essbase & GL).
  • Guiding Principles: Exemplify CPP Investments Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership, and high performance.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrate curiosity in understanding business processes and finding ways to continuously improve.
  • Communication: Apply critical thinking to resolve operational issues and timely escalation of emerging risks or issues to their leaders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence and effectively interact with senior leadership and communicate with all levels of management.
