Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Services Supervisor to join our team at Baycrest. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our environmental services department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and manage a team of environmental services staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
    • Develop and implement effective operational plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Baycrest's standards.
  • Operational Management
    • Manage and coordinate the cleaning and maintenance of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
    • Oversee the procurement and management of cleaning supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Quality and Risk Management
    • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with environmental services operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Baycrest's policies.
  • Human Resources
    • Recruit, select, and develop environmental services staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
    • Manage employee performance, providing coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including patients, families, staff, and external partners.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and achieve organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g., environmental services, facilities management, hospitality).
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a culturally diverse, unionized environment, preferably in a large healthcare or hospitality facility.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to facilitate change and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of applicable collective agreements, legislation, and regulations.
