Position Overview

The Logistics Material Operator plays a crucial role in managing the flow of raw materials and ensuring the safe and efficient unloading of deliveries. This position involves operating loaders and related machinery while also serving as a safety spotter to guide the Loader Operator during unloading processes. Prior to accepting any materials, the Logistics Material Operator conducts a thorough visual inspection to identify any damages and verifies that the quantities match the delivery documentation.

Work Location: Ponoka, AB
Shift Schedule: Day shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate loading equipment at all times.
  • Complete a daily safety assessment form at the beginning of each shift, evaluating the work environment and equipment condition to mitigate hazards.
  • Organize finished goods on the ground according to part ID numbers.
  • Ensure accurate selection and counting of finished goods from inventory in line with packing slip guidelines.
  • Load transportation vehicles in compliance with safety regulations and manifest instructions.
  • Unload transportation vehicles safely, identifying materials and tracking them appropriately.
  • Conduct daily inventory cycle counts as assigned.
  • Complete picklists by inspecting and counting materials to confirm they meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Maintain an organized storage yard, ensuring all materials are stored correctly as per the inventory map.
  • Perform maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and refueling as necessary.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in an industrial or fabrication environment, preferably in a laborer role
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance

The following qualifications are considered assets:

  • Previous experience in a production or workshop setting
  • Familiarity with industry-specific manufacturing processes
  • Experience operating various machinery and tools
  • A positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing setting
  • Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures
  • Physical demands include bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Shift work and potential overtime may be required
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory
