About this Position

The Field Supervisor is a key member of our team, responsible for the on-site management of installation projects. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Act as a mentor and provide support to team members to promote growth and development
  • Champion our company's safety and quality programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager and Project Manager to address performance issues and provide timely feedback to team members
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide recommendations for growth and development
  • Work with the Scheduler and Project Manager to facilitate on-site scheduling and ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Provide daily reporting to the client and project management, including progress updates, supervisors' workbooks, and expenditure documentation
  • Ensure that contract employees are supervised and accountable for their functions on install projects
  • Assist in ensuring travel and accommodation arrangements for install crews are properly booked and billed to the company
  • Advise the sales team on project installation cost estimates as part of the estimating process
  • Work with the Scheduler to advise the Sales department on gaps in the installation schedule to ensure timely project execution
  • Effectively manage all available resources to minimize downtime and optimize project execution
  • Actively work to mitigate company costs, including travel costs, overtime, equipment downtime, maintenance, housekeeping, safety, quality, etc.
  • Supervise and manage all third-party service activity, coordinating work activity with project requirements
  • Solicit ideas from install crew members to improve cost-saving measures, equipment improvements, and sales opportunities
  • Evaluate each installation project from start to finish to minimize variable costs and learn from experience to reduce costs in future
  • Proactively look for creative and innovative methods to make installation projects flow more smoothly
  • Ensure installation crew members are mentally and physically fit for duty
  • Work with administrative personnel to ensure required training courses are up-to-date for all crew members
  • Ensure adherence to the highest quality materials, equipment, and installation standards
  • Proactively liaise with new and existing clients to secure additional present and/or future work
  • Assist with the formulation of department strategic plans
  • Encourage good housekeeping habits to prevent injuries and property damage
Education and Experience

The following are required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an operations environment within the construction industry (preferably installation)
  • 3+ years prior supervisory experience, preferably within the construction industry
  • Knowledge of the helical pile industry, including products and installation equipment
  • Knowledge of industry-related tools (down-hole hammers, drill rods, bits, etc.)
  • Performance and communication training or experience
  • Basic mechanical experience
