About this role

The Material Handler is a key member of our team at Almita Piling Inc., responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient receipt and offloading of raw materials and other deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate loaders and related equipment to receive and offload incoming loads of raw materials and other deliveries.
  • Work as a safety spotter to provide safe unloading guidance to the Loader Operator.
  • Conduct visual checks of goods for damages and ensure correct quantities are received according to delivery manifest and packing slip.
  • Confirm delivered products by completing a physical count and measuring product dimensions to ensure product meets specific requirements.
  • Identify and mark traceable raw materials with MTR tracking numbers.
  • Stage finished goods on the ground to match part ID numbers.
  • Ensure all finished goods taken from inventory are properly selected by part number and counted for accuracy.
  • Load transportation flat-decks in a safe manner according to picking slip and manifest instructions.
  • Unload transportation flat-decks in a safe manner, identify material, and track accordingly.
  • Conduct daily inventory cycle counts as assigned.
  • Complete picklists by counting and inspecting pipe and/or plate to ensure quality and quantity requirements are met.
  • Maintain, clean, and lubricate equipment, and refill fuel tanks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience in a fabrication or industrial setting, preferably as a laborer
  • Basic manufacturing and tool knowledge
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted

Assets

  • Prior work experience in a production or shop environment
  • Knowledge of industry-related manufacturing processes
  • Experience operating grinders, pedestal grinder, clamps, and various fixtures
  • Experience operating a Skid-steer

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to loud noises
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Physical elements include bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting weights up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally
  • Fast-paced with tight deadlines
  • Shift work
  • Overtime may be required to meet operational needs
  • Work schedule may vary
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times
