Job Summary

Westex International is seeking a skilled Battery Assembly Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating machinery to assemble, test, and package dry cell batteries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery to assemble, test, or package dry cell batteries
  • Perform minor repairs to items rejected from the production line
  • Collect, record, and summarize inspection results
  • Position lead acid storage batteries on the assembly line
  • Insert battery contents into casing
  • Operate machinery to fabricate plates for lead acid storage batteries
  • Load machinery with glass tubes, bulbs, and other parts to produce light bulbs and tubes
  • Remove and package finished products
  • Operate or feed machinery and equipment to produce electrical wiring devices
  • Operate equipment to apply protective coatings to items
  • Check in-process and completed production for visual or mechanical defects
  • Operate testing equipment to maintain quality of products
  • Return faulty assemblies to production for repair
  • Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies
  • Set up and adjust production machinery/tools
Work Environment

As a Battery Assembly Operator, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be required to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience an asset
