About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our team at R.A. Malatest & Associates Ltd. in Victoria. As a Research Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Senior Research Director in the execution of various projects, utilizing a range of research methods including qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data collection instruments, such as surveys and interview guides.
  • Conduct Key Informant interviews and complete literature reviews.
  • Perform data verification and validation, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data using SPSS, STATA, and/or RStudio.
  • Complete site visits within Canada to collect primary data, and interact with other Malatest teams and departments.
  • Assist in the development of reports outlining study findings.
Requirements
  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in social sciences, such as sociology, psychology, political science, or economics.
  • 2 to 4 years of applied industry experience working in a social research environment.
  • Proficiency with data management and technical applications, including Stata, R, SPSS, MS Excel, and/or NVivo.
  • Experience with telephone and online survey software.
  • Passion for research, excellent communication, and writing abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of research methods, and ability to think critically and problem-solve.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation

Compensation will be commensurate with experience:

  • Research Analyst 1 – Two to three years of experience with a bachelor's degree: $55,000-$65,000
  • Research Analyst 2 – Four years of experience with a master's degree: $65,000-$75,000

Malatest's total compensation package includes discretionary bonuses, extended health and dental benefits, Short Term and Long Term disability insurance, Life Insurance, RRSP program, and an Employee Assistance Program. Hybrid work will be offered after successful completion of the probationary period and at the discretion of the manager.

Malatest staff must adhere to privacy, security, confidentiality, and quality standards and be legally entitled to work and travel in Canada. If hired, you would be required to obtain a criminal record check and security clearances with the Industrial Security Directorate Division of Public Services and Procurement Canada.
