Aon Hewitt is seeking a Senior Director, Actuarial Consulting Services.

As a key member of our distinguished team, you will play a vital role in driving results for our clients by providing innovative and effective solutions within our Solutions & Technology Group (STG) at Aon Reinsurance. This position allows for flexibility, including remote work options.

Your contributions as a Senior Director:

STG specializes in high-efficiency computing software, consulting services, and advisory solutions tailored for financial intermediaries, predominantly in the insurance sector. Our cutting-edge software platform, PathWise, empowers organizations to seamlessly model financial obligations without extensive coding, utilizing Graphical Processing Units (GPU) for optimal performance. Our consulting services are centered around actuarial analysis, reinsurance modeling, structuring, hedging program evaluations, and the modeling of insurance liabilities and financial assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Development Services:
  • Design and sustain actuarial liability models that incorporate intricate insurance product features while executing reserve and capital calculations aligned with regulatory standards.
  • Create and oversee financial asset models to facilitate balance sheet forecasts for financial institutions.
  • Construct and maintain Economic Scenario Generators for asset and liability valuation.
  • Enhance robust processes for insurance firms, including valuation, pricing, hedging, and asset liability management.
  • Contribute to the expansion of PathWise functionalities as required by client needs.
Onboarding Services:
  • Assist in developing models and processes for companies transitioning to PathWise.
  • Deliver hands-on training for PathWise users.
  • Create comprehensive training materials for PathWise users.
  • Identify gaps in company processes and recommend enhancements.
  • Resolve issues during PathWise migrations, ensuring a positive initial user experience.
Business Development Support:
  • Engage in demonstrations for prospective clients.
  • Participate in industry, academic, and internal research initiatives.
  • Prepare and present on emerging topics relevant to the insurance and financial services sectors.
  • Attend industry conferences and client events.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Over 5 years of experience in the life insurance sector focusing on pricing, hedging, valuation, and asset liability management.
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian reserve and capital requirements for life insurance products, including indexed and variable annuities, universal life, and traditional life insurance.
  • Comprehension of embedded guarantees within life insurance offerings.
  • Knowledge of financial assets, including derivatives.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) and SOLID principles, with a preference for Python.
  • Active pursuit of fellowship with the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries, particularly in life and annuities, is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills for extensive collaboration with teams and clients.
