Senior Director, Actuarial Consulting and Valuation

Aon Hewitt is seeking a Senior Director, Actuarial Consulting and Valuation.
As a key member of our esteemed team, you will drive impactful outcomes for our clients by providing innovative and effective solutions within our Solutions & Technology Group (STG) at Aon Reinsurance. This role can be performed remotely or from a designated location.
Your role as a Senior Director:
STG delivers high-efficiency computing software, consulting, and advisory services primarily to financial intermediaries, including insurance firms. Our advanced software platform, PathWise, enables organizations to effortlessly model financial obligations without complex coding, utilizing Graphical Processing Units (GPU) for optimal performance. Our consulting services focus on actuarial analysis, reinsurance modeling, structuring, hedging program reviews, and the modeling of insurance liabilities and financial assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Development Services:- Design and maintain actuarial liability models that incorporate intricate insurance product features and execute reserve and capital calculations in compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
- Develop and oversee financial asset models to facilitate balance sheet projections for financial institutions.
- Create and sustain Economic Scenario Generators for asset and liability valuation.
- Enhance robust processes for insurance companies, covering valuation, pricing, hedging, and asset liability management.
- Contribute to the enhancement of PathWise functionality as required by client needs.
- Assist in the development of models and processes for organizations transitioning to PathWise.
- Provide comprehensive training for PathWise users.
- Create standalone training materials for PathWise users.
- Identify gaps in company processes and recommend enhancements.
- Resolve issues that arise during PathWise migrations, ensuring a positive initial user experience.
- Engage in demonstrations for prospective clients.
- Participate in industry, academic, and internal research initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on emerging topics relevant to the insurance and financial services sectors.
- Attend industry and client conferences.
Qualifications for Success:
- Over 5 years of experience in the life insurance sector, specifically in pricing, hedging, valuation, and asset liability management roles.
- Familiarity with US and Canadian reserves and capital requirements for life insurance products, including indexed and variable annuities, universal life, and traditional life insurance products.
- Understanding of embedded guarantees within life insurance products.
- Knowledge of financial assets, including derivatives.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) and SOLID principles, with a preference for Python programming experience.
- Active pursuit of a fellowship with the Canadian Institute of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries, focusing on life and annuities is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for extensive team and client engagement.
