The Town of Ajax is a dynamic and innovative municipality committed to providing exceptional services to its thriving community. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Youth Program Supervisor – Youth Hubs (Seasonal Programs).

Reporting to the Community Recreation Coordinator, this role focuses on planning and executing engaging youth programming at Our Place, located within Ajax High School. The ideal candidate will enhance existing daily programming and provide mentorship and training to program leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with registered youth participants.
  • Collaborate in the oversight, planning, organization, and leadership of all youth hub activities.
  • Support staff members in facilitating daily programming and events.
  • Utilize various consultation methods to identify participant interests and program needs.
  • Monitor program operations, ensuring team performance, volunteer engagement, participant interactions, safety protocols, programming effectiveness, and equipment usage are maintained.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging within the Youth Hub.
  • Enforce behavior guidelines and provide information regarding Youth Hub policies and practices as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office workspace and manage equipment inventory accurately.
  • Respond effectively to incidents, problems, and emergencies according to departmental procedures.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as distributing staff schedules, incident reports, summary reports, damage reports, worker injury reports, and communication logs.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in recreation, working with youth and youth programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering recreational programs and youth services.
  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification.
  • Willingness to obtain Behavior Management Systems certification.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong public relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership resource knowledge and programming skills.
  • Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search).
