Position Overview:

As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our facilities and the individuals within them. Your role will encompass a range of duties aimed at maintaining a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular security patrols, both proactively and reactively, to address incidents as they arise.
  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills, assisting individuals who may be experiencing stress or require medical attention.
  • Maintain physical fitness to effectively perform duties that involve standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Execute a variety of preventive and responsive tasks, including interior and exterior patrols across the organization’s premises.
  • Implement Use of Force/Restraint protocols as necessary, adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Provide escort services for staff and visitors upon request.
  • Assist with motor vehicle needs for staff and visitors as required.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of all activities and service calls during your shift.
  • Prepare detailed reports following investigations or significant occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Investigate incidents, follow up on reports, and review CCTV footage as needed.
  • Address rule violations by warning individuals and, if necessary, apprehending or removing them from the premises.
  • Manage office-related tasks, including ID badge issuance, key distribution, and lost and found services.
Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • A degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services is an asset.
  • Up-to-date immunization records (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and TB skin tests).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
  • Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). Candidates without these certifications may participate in Paladin's training program prior to onboarding, with the understanding that the training is unpaid and requires a six-month commitment to the position.
