Key Responsibilities
The Director of Organization Design and Effectiveness (ODE) is responsible for leading, advising, and providing expertise in the formulation, development, and execution of strategic organizational development initiatives. These initiatives are critical and strategic, aimed at enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This role collaborates closely with Business and HR leaders to pinpoint opportunities for organizational design and to create alternative structures that align with business strategies and objectives.
Key responsibilities include managing all phases of organization design projects, which encompass: strategic positioning, comprehensive assessments, development of design alternatives, recommendations, implementation, and strategic communication. Additionally, this role supports the Senior Director of Organization Design and Effectiveness in executive change initiatives by continuously improving methodologies, processes, tools, and best practices in organizational design.
How You Will Excel
- Consultation on Organization Design – Collaborate with senior leadership and HR Advisors to engage business units in discussions about the effectiveness and efficiency of their organizational structures and operating models. Present design alternatives based on business objectives to stimulate strategic discussions about the desired future state.
- Leadership in Projects – Take ownership of Organization Design and Effectiveness projects and programs that relate to significant business transformations, operating model adjustments, and key strategic decisions. This may involve detailed analysis of HR data, competitive reviews, and best practice research to formulate evidence-based recommendations.
- Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay informed about changes in the business landscape. Provide authoritative analysis and insights to guide business partners and executive management, ensuring alignment of structures with organizational strategy and business goals. Regularly participate in management meetings to provide updates, proactively identify needs, and gather information on planned business changes.
