About the Opportunity
Kirkland Lake Gold Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Mobile Equipment Technician to join our team at the Detour Lake Mine site. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring optimal equipment availability for our operations.
Detour Lake is Canada's largest gold producing mine, boasting substantial growth potential and a mine life of approximately 22 years. Located in northeastern Ontario, this open pit mine is situated within the historic Detour Lake mining area.
Responsibilities- Maintain all light duty vehicles and equipment in reliable and safe operating condition.
- Conduct thorough equipment testing, reporting deficiencies, performing inspections, preventative maintenance service, and quality repairs in accordance with work plans and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with the maintenance planning group to ensure optimal equipment availability through effective inventory management of parts.
- Develop strong working relationships with the operations team.
- Prepare accurate and timely electronic service reports and documentation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area.
- Analyze maintenance procedures and provide recommendations for improved effectiveness.
- Ensure that safety issues are promptly reported to the supervisor and addressed effectively.
- Promote a positive health, safety, and environment culture and adherence to the Internal Responsibility System.
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Ontario Provincial/Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) Automotive Service Technician (310S) Certificate or Ontario Provincial/Inter-Provincial (Red Seal) Truck and Coach Technician (310T) Certificate is considered an asset.
- Minimum five years of experience working on mobile equipment in a mining setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
- Focused and self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience working at a remote work site is an asset.
