Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor laboratory staff, providing guidance on daily operations to meet project testing requirements.
  • Review and validate test results to ensure precise and reliable data collection.
  • Participate in the laboratory's quality control program, assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to define testing scopes and objectives, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Develop testing programs tailored to meet client specifications when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Civil, Chemical, or Metallurgical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in tailings materials testing, including rheology, dewatering, and unconfined compressive strength.
  • Thorough understanding of standardized laboratory testing procedures (ASTM, AASHTO, CSA).
  • Strong time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively with project groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with skills in data entry, interpretation, and report generation.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally to support field programs is advantageous.
  • Current First Aid and WHMIS training is a plus.
