About the Role

CMLS Financial is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Account Manager to join our Vancouver team. As a key member of our commercial mortgage servicing team, you will be responsible for assisting the Director, Commercial Servicing in the post-funding management of a sizeable commercial mortgage portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface with investors and borrowers to negotiate and manage various loan issues, including insurance claims settlements, expropriations, and mortgage assumptions.
  • Review and interpret loan documentation to ensure compliance with servicing contract requirements.
  • Timely satisfaction of tasks and application writing while maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple parties, including lawyers, borrowers, investors, and originators, to resolve account management tasks.
  • Monitor watch lists and administer early arrears.
  • Prepare business cases and credit recommendations.
Requirements
  • Experience in commercial mortgage funding, servicing, administration, and/or commercial real estate credit analysis.
  • Bilingualism in English and French with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial real estate, with a focus on income-producing properties in the four main sectors: multi-family, industrial, office, and retail.
  • Experience in underwriting, administering, and servicing CMHC-insured loans, including loan review, workout, and default management.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with mortgage law, loan agreements, and security agreements.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and creativity in developing action plans that meet the needs of both CMLS Financial and borrowers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate to advanced level user of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
