Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time, temporary Transportation Demand Management Coordinator for a three-year term. In this role, you will collaborate with the Transportation team to conduct research, generate reports, and implement social marketing strategies aimed at reducing single-occupancy vehicle usage during peak hours. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing educational and promotional initiatives, projects, and events.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to raise awareness and assess the effectiveness of outreach campaigns.
  • Facilitating public consultation events and partnering with the communications team to create outreach materials.
  • Conducting research and analyzing policies related to vehicle parking, curbside management, and TDM for businesses and new developments.
  • Assisting in the preparation of comprehensive reports, technical documents, and presentations for Council.
  • Providing support across departments for updates to TDM and parking policies within strategic planning frameworks.
  • Interpreting and explaining relevant municipal policies and programs to various stakeholders, including the public and government officials.
  • Performing additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Strong independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Expertise in community-based social marketing principles.
  • Solid understanding of transportation demand management concepts and associated regional strategies.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with diverse internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate outreach programs in collaboration with communications personnel.
  • Research and analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in preparing and maintaining relevant reports and documentation.
Education
A diploma or degree in a related field, combined with significant relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence is also necessary.

Compensation
The hourly wage for this unionized position is competitive and is based on a standard 35-hour work week.
