Position Overview
We are currently seeking a temporary full-time Transportation Demand Management Coordinator for a three-year term. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Transportation team, focusing on research, reporting, social marketing, and community outreach to promote transportation demand management (TDM) strategies. Your efforts will contribute to reducing reliance on single-occupant vehicles during peak travel times by advocating for alternative transportation options such as carpooling and other modes of transit. Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing educational and promotional initiatives, projects, and events.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to raise awareness and assess the effectiveness of outreach campaigns.
  • Facilitating public consultation sessions and coordinating with the communications team to create outreach materials.
  • Conducting research and analysis on vehicle parking, curbside management, and TDM policies relevant to employers and new developments.
  • Assisting in the preparation of comprehensive reports, technical documents, and presentations for Council.
  • Providing support across departments for updates to TDM and parking policies within strategic planning frameworks.
  • Interpreting and explaining municipal policies and programs to diverse audiences, including the public and government officials.
  • Performing additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma or degree in a relevant field, along with significant related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence is also required.

Compensation
The hourly wage for this unionized position is competitive and based on a standard 35-hour work week.
