The CSO serves as the primary liaison with Public Services and Procurement Canada's Contract Security Program (CSP), holding accountability for all matters related to contract security. You will ensure adherence to the Federal CSP, Controlled Goods Programs, and other security protocols across Federal, Provincial, and Private sectors (including entities such as law enforcement, educational institutions, and financial organizations). This role demands a commitment to the Corporation's core values: integrity, dedication, confidentiality, and professionalism, while fostering a culture of knowledge and responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and guide all Assistant Corporate Security Officers (ACSOs) in compliance with the Contract Security Manual (CSM) and CSP requirements.
  • Provide ongoing education and awareness initiatives regarding the corporate security program to all employees.
  • Ensure the timely submission of Personnel Security Screening Requests and Visit Clearance Requests.
  • Assist new employees with security protocols upon their onboarding.
  • Maintain comprehensive security documentation, including sensitive and classified materials.
  • Achieve and maintain certification in the Designated Official Certification Program.
  • Coordinate with PSPC/CSP for necessary security briefings and training.
  • Collaborate with the Contracts team to manage security requirements for all subcontracts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to assess and mitigate risks across all operational areas.
  • Establish and uphold effective security policies and procedures to protect the organization's assets.
  • Lead and inspire the security team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor team members, empowering them to contribute to the organization's security goals.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Security Management, Risk Management, Business Administration) is required.
  • Experience in Federal Government, Consulting, or Construction sectors is advantageous.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Chief Information Security Officer) are preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive leadership and coordination experience in corporate or governmental environments.
  • Strong understanding of security processes related to Federal and Provincial government contracts.
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain Federal personal security clearance to the Level of Secret.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a successful track record in implementing security initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing and managing complex risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems creatively.
