Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at McAsphalt. As a Power Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the hot oil heater, offloading and loading trucks, controlling tank temperatures, and performing various duties at our Langley facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the hot oil heater to ensure optimal performance
  • Offload and load trucks safely and efficiently
  • Control tank temperatures using hot oil heaters
  • Manufacture asphaltic products according to company standards
  • Load and offload tankers as needed
  • Operate mobile equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks

Requirements

  • Power Engineer education with a valid 4th class steam ticket
  • Previous experience with high-pressure boilers is an asset
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a small team
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work outdoors, at height, and in various environments
  • Experience with pumps, piping, heat tracing, and hot oil heaters is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level
