Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Groundperson to join our team in Crescent Valley, BC. As an Asphalt Plant Groundperson, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our asphalt plant, including the safe unloading of hot oil, performing daily maintenance and safety checks, and operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders and skid-steer loaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely unload hot oil from delivery trucks
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, or other heavy equipment
- Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Shovel asphalt and other plant materials
- Responsible for plant production of materials, and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant
- Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Ensure the timely delivery of oil, fuel, aggregates, and supplies to the plant
- Assists with stockpiling materials and feed the plant from the stockpiles in an efficient and productive manner
- Operate front-end loader, skid-steer loader, or other heavy equipment
- Perform set up and take down of plants at different job sites as required
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience within the road construction industry
- 1 to 2 years as an Asphalt Plant Labourer, preferred
- Valid class 5 driver's license and clean current driver's abstract
- Basic knowledge of mechanics and equipment repair
- Knowledge of welding equipment, tools, and methods
