We are seeking a highly skilled Genetics Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). As a Genetics Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing information and technical support to clients, laboratory staff, and other healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Triage patient specimens and organize out-of-province testing requests
- Track specimens, results, and reports
- Provide information and technical support to clients, laboratory staff, and other healthcare providers
- Master of Science degree in Genetics or Master of Science/Master of Arts in Genetic Counselling
- Board eligible or board certified by the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC), and/or the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
- Specialized knowledge of clinical genetics
- Knowledge of laboratory molecular genetics, cytogenetics, and genomics
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
The successful candidate will work in a laboratory setting and be exposed to all hazards and dangers incumbent in working in an office and laboratory environment.
