The Cost Estimator, reporting to the Director of Sales, will collaborate closely with clients to ensure a superior customer experience. This role involves delivering precise information and quotations to clients while serving as a valuable resource for both internal teams and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver timely pricing for purchased items, stock products, and custom orders;
- Ensure the accuracy of quotations before they are dispatched to clients;
- Thoroughly examine job specifications to confirm the appropriate building materials are selected;
- Assist clients in interpreting loading tables;
- Provide product expertise to both internal staff and external clients;
- Help clients ascertain the quantities and types of materials necessary for their projects (take-offs);
- Offer personalized customer support and resolve issues through various communication channels;
- Address customer complaints proactively and professionally;
- Utilize the ERP system for entering sales orders, blanket orders, checking inventory, and maintaining quotes and purchase orders;
- Investigate customer inquiries to determine manufacturing feasibility;
- Identify alternative materials as needed;
- Coordinate with production teams, suppliers, logistics, and purchasing departments;
- Assist outside sales personnel in formulating pricing strategies;
- Uphold a high standard of customer service;
- Maintain extensive knowledge of products and services;
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant estimating experience in the Building Envelope sector, preferably within a manufacturing or construction context
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Ability to respond swiftly in a dynamic and evolving environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
