POSITION SUMMARY

As a Multi-Employer Benefits Administrator, you will be an integral part of an administration team that provides exceptional administrative services to multiple clients while demonstrating outstanding and timely customer service. You will regularly handle highly confidential and critical information. Professionalism, strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, a solid work ethic, and the capacity to work independently are essential for this role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Professionally respond to incoming telephone inquiries from members and other contacts regarding Benefits (Health & Welfare).
  • Deliver accurate and comprehensive information efficiently, documenting interactions according to departmental procedures.
  • Timely respond to voicemails and emails, investigating details and seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Provide knowledgeable and thorough responses to benefit-related inquiries from clients and external professionals promptly. Correspond with members of benefit funds, pensioners, local union officials, Trustees, consultants, actuaries, auditors, and legal counsel as required.
  • Make necessary adjustments to the benefit eligibility database.
  • Adjudicate health and dental claims fully, ensuring accuracy and eligibility in accordance with the applicable plan's terms and conditions.
  • Review and follow up on claims on hold daily with internal departments or external contacts as needed.
  • Contact healthcare providers, insurance carriers, or claimants to verify claims-related information.
  • Review and rectify daily quality assurance follow-up items as assigned by Senior Claims Administrators.
  • Collect information requested by members and health service providers, coordinating mail-outs with Reception.
  • Thoroughly compile and summarize details regarding claim adjustments, claim appeals, and pension-related issues.
  • Provide general administrative support, including typing, data entry, photocopying, filing, and scanning as required.
  • Contribute to the team's efforts by completing other administrative tasks or projects as assigned.
  • Perform any other duties necessary to help drive our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and adhere to our Organization's Values.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English is essential; bilingual in French is considered an asset.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and tact in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience with pension plans, health benefit plans, or in the life insurance or financial services industry is an asset.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to the accuracy of work.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an initiative to provide comprehensive service and information in response to inquiries.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks, meeting company service standards.
  • Well-developed analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Capability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously (e.g., communicating with callers while retrieving information from systems and summarizing inquiries for call logs).
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
