POSITION SUMMARY
In the role of Multi-Employer Benefits Administrator, you will be an integral part of an administration team dedicated to providing exceptional administrative services to a diverse client base while exemplifying outstanding and timely customer support. You will frequently handle sensitive and confidential information that is crucial to our operations. As a Multi-Employer Benefits Administrator, professionalism, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential, along with a robust work ethic and the capacity to operate independently.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Professionally manage incoming calls from members and other stakeholders regarding Benefits (Health & Welfare).
- Provide accurate and thorough information efficiently while documenting interactions according to departmental protocols.
- Respond to voicemails and emails in alignment with client service standards, conducting necessary investigations and seeking assistance when required.
- Deliver knowledgeable and comprehensive answers to benefit-related inquiries from clients and external professionals promptly. Communicate with members of benefit funds, pensioners, local union representatives, Trustees, consultants, actuaries, auditors, and legal advisors as needed.
- Make necessary adjustments to the benefit eligibility database.
- Adjudicate health and dental claims thoroughly, ensuring accuracy and eligibility in accordance with the applicable plan's terms and conditions.
- Review and follow up on claims pending resolution daily with internal departments or external contacts as necessary.
- Contact healthcare providers, insurance companies, or claimants to verify claims-related information.
- Review and rectify daily quality assurance follow-up items as assigned by Senior Claims Administrators.
- Gather information requested by members and healthcare providers, coordinating mail-outs as needed.
- Accurately compile and summarize details regarding claim adjustments, appeals, and pension-related matters.
- Provide general administrative support, including typing, data entry, photocopying, filing, and scanning as required.
- Contribute to the team's objectives by completing additional administrative tasks or projects as assigned.
- Perform any other duties necessary to advance our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and uphold our Organization's Values.
Requirements
- Fluency in English is essential; bilingualism in French is an asset.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and tact in a dynamic team environment.
- Experience with pension plans, health benefit plans, or within the life insurance or financial services sectors is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in work.
- Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating initiative in providing comprehensive service and information in response to inquiries.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet service standards.
- Well-developed analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously (e.g., communicating with callers while retrieving information from systems and summarizing inquiries for documentation).
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
