About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as a Senior Vice President, Freight Brokerage and Logistics. This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic team and drive business growth in the transportation and logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Freight Brokerage division, establishing short and long-term goals to drive growth and deliver on performance and financial results.
  2. Team Management: Assist, coach, mentor, and lead a team of professionals to achieve goals and stretch targets.
  3. Carrier Development: Oversee the development of a stable quality of carriers throughout North America to handle business outside the company fleet. Build and maintain networks and professional relationships with rail and intermodal service providers, ensuring all carriers are compliant with company requirements.
  4. Business Development: Work closely with the corporate team to capture business opportunities and minimize the use of outside 3 and 4PL providers. Collaborate with affiliates to maximize service levels, case full, and cost reduction.
  5. Contract Management: Responsible for meeting negotiated rates and services with all Freight Brokerage service providers.
  6. Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the competitive landscape, being aware of pricing, key customers, competitive issues, business in transition, and industry trends.
Requirements
  1. Education: University degree with a concentration in business, logistics, or equivalent experience.
  2. Certification: CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation or equivalent.
  3. Experience: 10+ years of experience leading a team of Operations, Sales, and Administrative personnel in the Freight Brokerage industry.
  4. Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, LTL, TL, Courier, and warehousing industry.
  5. Leadership Skills: Superior communication skills, ability to influence, high degree of business acumen, strategic thinking, tactical execution, self-starter, results-driven, ability to manage priorities effectively, demonstrated ability to motivate a workforce, develop a strong performance-driven leadership team, and an engaging culture.
