Position Overview

The Lead Cultural Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the Socio-Cultural program within the English Language Institute. This position involves overseeing a team of Cultural Assistants and coordinating both in-person and virtual extracurricular activities that enrich the student experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Activity Coordination: Collaborate with the Senior Program Assistant to organize and manage bookings for student events, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and effective delegation of tasks to Cultural Assistants.
  • Event Support: Facilitate various student events, including orientations and field trips, while working closely with the Senior Program Assistant to manage scheduling and logistics.
  • Content Development: Create and curate engaging online activities through various platforms, partnering with Cultural Assistants to enhance content quality.
  • Program Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of programming through student feedback and engagement metrics, utilizing insights to inform future offerings.
  • Promotional Activities: Manage the promotion of extracurricular activities through social media channels, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.

Leadership and Administration

  • Team Leadership: Guide and mentor a team of Cultural Assistants, ensuring clarity in task delegation and achievement of event objectives.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Academic Coordinator with daily operations, prioritizing high-impact requests and recommending improvements to policies and programs.
  • Scheduling Coordination: Manage the scheduling of Cultural Assistants, ensuring their availability aligns with event requirements.
  • Communication: Address inquiries from students and faculty, maintaining a high standard of service and support.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • High School diploma plus one year of post-secondary education and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a diverse environment.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and Microsoft Office Suite; experience in video/photo editing is advantageous.
  • Attributes of an ideal candidate include integrity, accountability, initiative, adaptability, and strong emotional intelligence.
