Position Overview: Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the support specialist will deliver essential services to individuals facing homelessness or those at risk of becoming homeless. The primary duties include:

  • Case Management: Develop and oversee a caseload of clients.
  • Intake and Assessment: Conduct thorough intake processes and assessments.
  • Counseling and Referrals: Provide necessary counseling and make appropriate referrals.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with other organizations and agencies.
  • Emergency Assistance: Offer support during critical situations.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality standards.

Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • Preferred: College diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with marginalized populations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Independence: Capable of working autonomously.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift items weighing up to forty pounds.
  • Mission Alignment: Commitment to supporting the mission of The Salvation Army.
