Position Overview: Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Support Specialist will deliver essential services to individuals facing homelessness or those at risk of becoming homeless. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at fostering stability and support.

  • Caseload Management: Develop and oversee a personalized caseload for clients.
  • Intake and Assessment: Conduct thorough intake interviews and assessments to identify client needs.
  • Counseling and Referrals: Provide supportive counseling and make appropriate referrals to additional services.
  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with other organizations to enhance service delivery.
  • Emergency Assistance: Assist clients in navigating emergency situations effectively.
  • Confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality standards in all client interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: College diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous work with marginalized populations is highly valued.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
  • Physical capacity to lift up to forty pounds.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission of The Salvation Army.
