We are seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Control Supervisor who will take charge of overseeing in-process inspections and quality assurance activities across various construction phases. This position entails ensuring compliance with specifications, industry standards, and established operating procedures at every construction stage. Your exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, will be essential in facilitating the following processes.

The Supervisor will provide technical oversight and direction regarding dimensional accuracy for structural and outfitting systems. You will also participate in formulating construction strategies, analyzing data, and contributing to plans aimed at enhancing product accuracy. Additionally, you will ensure that formal inspections with stakeholders and regulatory entities are conducted as necessary.

This role reports directly to the Quality & Accuracy Control Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve departmental goals by supervising personnel and coordinating work processes.
  • Plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing organizational standards and complying with legal regulations.
  • Oversee operations by developing schedules, assigning tasks, and monitoring workflows while implementing productivity standards.
  • Review specifications and work instructions to ascertain quality requirements for each contract.
  • Create Inspection and Test Plans for new construction and repair projects, ensuring adherence to contract specifications.
  • Conduct daily quality inspections of trade-specific work and communicate findings to relevant supervisors.
  • Perform accuracy control tasks for new construction and repair projects.
  • Generate and sign off on final inspection reports, providing objective quality evidence to clients.
  • Conduct receiving inspections of components and systems.
  • Engage in formal inspections with clients and regulatory bodies, documenting all defects and nonconformities.
  • Collaborate with trade supervisors to enhance in-process quality.
  • Conduct gap analyses of procedures and work instructions.
  • Communicate results to relevant areas and assist in updating procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain quality documentation for the designated area.
  • Perform periodic audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a complex work environment.
  • A diploma in a relevant field (Marine, Mechanical Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent) or applicable trade certifications.
  • 5-8 years of experience in shipyards or complex manufacturing settings, or equivalent experience in welding inspection.
  • Prior experience in Quality/Accuracy Control or Quality Assurance is preferred.
  • Formal quality assurance certifications are advantageous.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical conduct in all professional interactions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and focus team efforts on achieving objectives.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using Total Stations, Laser Scanning, and Laser Trackers.
  • Familiarity with Survey Software, particularly Spatial Analyzer.
  • Solid understanding of quality control and inspection protocols.
  • Capability to develop Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Technical acumen in reading and interpreting specifications and drawings.
  • Ability to analyze material test reports and understand requirements for materials.
